The plot meets all the requirements for its purpose as a temple complex: it is located near the site of the old, now lost, temple that existed during the time of H. Skovoroda, and constructing a temple on it will allow creating a complete composition of this public center, establishing a local dominant. The plot adjoins the park area, and the temple will logically fit into the park’s structure.

The design of the temple is dedicated to the great event of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

A circular route is provided around the temple for the passage of the Cross Procession during church holidays, with a width of more than 5 meters and platforms up to 6 meters wide in front of the side entrances to the temple and opposite the altar.

The composition of the temple is symbolic and closely corresponds to the style of the old temple. The restraint of the classical forms of the temple is similar to the structures of the memorial-literary complex. The image of the temple is the peaceful dominance of the main dome (the Lord); the upward aspiration towards God is expressed in the increase in height from the bell tower to the completion of the main dome of the central part of the temple.

The temple is designed without pillars, with domes. The structure of the temple plan is three-part (altar – central part – narthex), the shape of the temple plan is cross-shaped. The sanctuary in the temple is located in the central part. The bell tower is built-in, located above the narthex, while the altar, prothesis, and diaconicon are located in the annexed apses. The choirs are designed on the second floor in the western part of the temple.
