The float glass plant is designed on a plot located within the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical-Industrial Park at 1 Kimyachilar Street, Sumgayit, with a total area of 167.66 hectares.

The distinctive features of the plant’s site formation include its elongation along the production line and railway tracks.

The complex of buildings and structures corresponds to a closed technological scheme.

According to the technological needs of this type of production, the following buildings and structures are provided:

Production building (No.1 on the master plan) – located along the main axis from south to north. The production line is situated inside the building, consisting of:

– Glass melting furnace section (1.1),
– Molten bath section (1.2),
– Annealing lehr section (1.3),
– Cutting line section (1.4),
– SO2 storage area.

Finished product warehouse building (No.3) – it houses a storage area for packaging materials, charging equipment wash, and an area for loading trucks. The warehouse occupies a significant part of the plot and is oriented towards the south. A turning platform is arranged in front of the loading area for maneuvering trucks and entry for loading.

Heat utilization installation with a smokestack (No.2) is located on the north side of the production workshop.

Raw material blending department (No. 4.1) – due to technological features, it is located near the main production and glass melting furnace (in the northeast part of the site). It produces a blend used in glass production.

Raw material warehouse in “big bags” (initial raw material) (No.5) – located on the east side of the site.

Glass cullet warehouse (No.4.4) – situated near the lehr building and glass cutting and packaging area. It is connected by a transport gallery to the cutting area.

Batch transport gallery (No.4.2) – above ground, with a height of at least 4.5 m above the roadway, passing from the batch department to the production workshop.

Cullet transport gallery (No.4.3) – above ground, with a height of at least 4.5 m above the roadway.

Administrative and residential building (No.11) – located in the southern part of the site in front of the loading area.

Power unit (No.7.1) – including a reverse water supply station, compressor room, and electrical substation. The power unit is located on the east side of the bath section.

Diesel generators (No.7.2)

An area for storing nitrogen and hydrogen and a mixing station, consisting of a compressed air compressor and areas for storing nitrogen and hydrogen containers, is located on the east side of the site.

SO2 storage area (No.1.5) – located on the lehr side.

Railway development area (No. 15) – near the eastern border of the site.

Diesel fuel storage warehouse (No.22.1) – underground. Used for backup power for the furnace in case of a lack of gas supply to the furnace and for diesel generators in case of a power outage in the production network.

Gas distribution point (GRP) from the side of the gas pipeline entering the building.

Treatment facilities for production wastewater – located in the northern part of the site.

Checkpoint (CP) (checkpoint No.10.1) – located at the entrance and exit from the plant on the northwest side.

Truck scales (No.10.1) – located at the entrance near the CP.

In addition to the above, the project includes the construction of parking lots for passenger and freight vehicles. Additionally, the installation of a modular boiler house for heating the administrative and residential building is planned.

The operation mode of the main production and technologically related auxiliary productions is continuous.
